Michelle Pinnock - Membership Manager
Introducing our new Membership Manager, Michelle. Here she tells us a little more about her past experience and interests...
"At 16 (many years ago) I began my career in leisure working as a lifeguard and swimming teacher. Upon finishing A-levels I worked on a ranch in America for 3 months where I developed the travel bug and spent the next few years working and travelling around the world (Russia, Japan, Australia to name a few places). During my travels, I completed my Level 2 and Level 3 fitness qualifications. I returned to the UK and became a full time studio instructor and personal trainer. In 2005, I moved to Devon and took on my first role as a leisure manager for a resort but still enjoyed teaching occasionally (swimming and spinning are my favourites). I love the outdoors and enjoy a variety of hobbies from surfing and cycling to gardening and have just started to learn to roller skate! I'm looking to forward to getting my teeth in to my role at Gaia and really looking forward to the launch of our new studio and class timetable."
Thomas Wood - Personal Trainer
"I'm Thomas, one of the new faces at Gaia Spa, here to make you feel fantastic and positive about yourself. I'm a fully qualified Personal Trainer with a background within sports from a young age. I've been proudly selected to have GB trials for Water Polo and multiple national championships for Lifesaving at both junior, senior and university level. I reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in July 2013 raising money for Meningitis Research Foundation. Now, as well as the day job I'm a strength and conditioning coach and player for Torbay Trojans American Football team. I am also a Les Mills BodyPump Instructor (as well as many other classes) and love to make people enjoy their workouts all whilst moving to music and having a great time."
"I'm Kris and started at Gaia just a few weeks ago. I am a NASM certified personal trainer, with a vast knowledge of nutrition specialising in vegetarian and vegan diet plans. I trained with the Shaolin monks in central China, studying traditional Kung Fu and mindfulness mediation. I strongly believe that awareness of the mind is paramount to achieving your goals. I have demonstrated this by completing several marathons, and ultra marathons; the latest being the world's highest ultra marathon in the Himalayas. I hope to bring a varied and colourful approach to Gaia and look forward to working with you in the gym and in classes."
